Hello all,
An excellent in-person workshop is taking place in Ceske Budejovice May
24-26, 2022 where the RepeatExplorer pipeline implemented in Galaxy is
going to be taught in-depth.
Registration is open and more details can be found at
http://repeatexplorer.org/?page_id=14.
Have a great day,
Martin
Hello all,
I'd like to invite you to a Galaxy workshop organized by ELIXIR CZ which is
happening in 2 weeks on *Thursday the 4th of November 2-4pm* CET.
Its focus is on Genome Annotation with RepeatExplorer2 presented by one of
the RepeatExplorer's cretors, *Dr. Petr Novák* of UMBR CAS.
There will also be a part on Large Data Handling with Galaxy which will
cover ways to efficiently handle thousands of datasets through the Galaxy
interface.
Feel free to join any or both parts of this workshop but please reserve
<https://www.elixir-czech.cz/registration/genome-annotation-galaxy-large-dat…>
your spot. More event details here

Hello all,
I hope you all are doing well and enjoying the splendid weather we got (at
least a little). Below I am providing you with a couple of hopefully
interesting suggestions about opportunities to learn more about Galaxy.
Tomorrow one of the creators of RepeatExplorer Jiri Novak from the Biology
Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences is delivering a webinar on Galaxy
Resources for Tool Developers. This should be very useful for anybody
considering putting their tools in Galaxy or running their own instance.
Check out the event and register at
https://galaxyproject.org/events/2021-05-gr4-tool-devs/.
You can also check out the recordings of the previous entries in this
webinar series:

An interesting resource that has reached maturity recently is the COVID-19
Galaxy analysis pipeline developed by the joint effort of the Galaxy
Community and led by the Galaxy EU group. The pipeline automates basic
analysis of sequencing data from SARS-CoV-2 samples based on the COG-UK
efforts and data. Check out the full news at
https://elixir-europe.org/news/covid-19-variants-galaxy.
Similar report-creating endeavour is pursued by the COG-CZ group - see
https://virus.img.cas.cz/.
In ELIXIR CZ we have started to think about the topics for the next Galaxy
workshop. Currently we are leaning towards genomics pipelines and
applications followed by another workshop with machine learning topics.
Please let me know if you have any question, suggestion, a comment etc...
- or just respond - this mailing list is open to everyone.
Thank you for reading all the way down here and have a great day,
Martin
Good morning everybody,
It's my pleasure to invite you to the Galaxy & Proteomics online workshop
hosted by ELIXIR CZ. The workshop is scheduled on Monday, 22nd March 2021,
13:00-16:00 CET.
It is split in two parts. The first one is a general hands-on introduction
to the Galaxy platform. We will run a couple of tools, create a dataset
collection, and set up a basic workflow.
In the second part our guest speaker *Melanie Föll from the University of
Freiburg* will cover many proteomics tools that are available in Galaxy and
how proteomics analyses benefit from the Galaxy ecosystem.
*The parts are independent, please feel free to join any or both.*
