[galaxy-dev] number of jobs waiting

Hello, I am trying to get an estimated time of job execution. For this reason I need to get the number of jobs waiting in the queue. There is any api I could use ( external to galaxy) in order to check the galaxy queue and get the number of jobs waiting to be executed? I have been looking for this information but I didn't find anything clear. Thanks for your help Jordi
