Do you have 'use_interactive' enabled (set to 'True') in universe_wsgi.ini? Also, have you clicked on the the bug icon? This shows the STDOUT and STDERR of the tool, if it was not redirected.

If the tool doesn't fail but produces incorrect results (i.e. isn't red), the first 32K of the STDOUT and STDERR are also available on the dataset's information page (the 'i' icon in a history dataset). --nate
