Hello Abdulrahman,

we have multiple active repositories on GH already that contain e.g. Galaxy tool wrappers (https://github.com/galaxyproject/tools-devteam) or software to help with Galaxy deployment (https://github.com/galaxyproject/usegalaxy-playbook).

Regarding our main development repository (currently at https://bitbucket.org/galaxy/galaxy-central ) the move to the GH _might_ happen sometimes this year and will be transparent for anybody deploying Galaxy (probably with https://bitbucket.org/galaxy/galaxy-dist remaining as a maintaned mirror).

There is no deadline though as the percieved importance is not high.

Martin, Galaxy Team

Hi Galaxy people,

I had a chat with some of you in the last workshop in Switzerland, and I got information that you are planning to move to git.

Is this still the intention? If yes, then when should this happen?

Thank you,

Yours sincerely,
Abdulrahman Azab
