[galaxy-dev] Gnu Parallel

http://savannah.gnu.org/projects/parallel/ Has anyone considered using something like Parallel under the covers in Galaxy for simple parallel processing like Bowtie. Essentially it works like xargs but can execute across multiple hosts and cores. I thought I would check with the community before spending any serious time evaluating it.
