A backtrace is a lot better than "Segmentation fault". Maybe there should be an exception handler that displays a nice message, but then there's the challenge of preserving whatever information there is about the nature of the failure and expressing it in a helpful way. Doing that properly isn't exactly a challenge unique to Python.
Finally I've found the problem, yes it was a typo in the host setting in the universe file. Thanks for your tip.
