Dear Galaxy developer community,
Galaxy tool developers attending ISMB are encouraged to sign up for the Bioinformatics Interoperability SIG to be held on Friday, June 13. The SIG will include presentations on Galaxy and other interoperability environments and will feature a hackathon where tool developers can add their tools to Galaxy or another environment.
For more information about the SIG please see the BSI SIG Web site. Information about ISMB and how to register is at http://www.iscb.org/ismb2012.
Sincerely, BSI SIG Committee
And if one day isn't enough for you... in association with BOSC, there is a two day OBF organised CodeFest (Coding Festival aka Hackathon) being held locally just before that, 11 & 12 July, at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/Codefest_2012 http://www.open-bio.org/wiki/BOSC_2012 I know some Galaxy users & developers will be there - so if you are coming to ISBM and can spare a day or two to come early, it would great to have more coders! The location is convenient for LAX airport, and the CodeFest will be much more informal affair than BIS and BOSC (Bioinformatics Open Source Conference) which are overlapping ISMB SIG meetings - which you must pay for and register for via the ISMB website. Also the BIS and BOSC meetings will include a joint session on Software Interoperability. (Slightly jealous that I won't be there but stuck in Europe...) Peter
