[galaxy-dev] Problem cutting files

Dear Galaxy users I am trying to cut a tab delimited file using the cut option under text manipulation. When the columns I wish are cut out, the resultant file contains only '.' (dots) where the data was in the previous file. Any ideas how to resolve this problem? Lizzy
