how to purge histories/datasets not accessed/updated for a certain time
Hi, We have a local mirror of the galaxy system and the disk is occupied really quickly. Is there a way to purge histories/datasets not accessed/updated for a certain period of time, no matter if they are deleted by the user? It looks like the current scripts for clean up only purges deleted histories/datasets. Thanks! Chaolin
Chaolin, No, unfortunately there isn't a safe way to determine datasets that have not been accessed for a period of time. A timestamp is logged for creation and updates, but not for regular access. We have recently added features that make it more obvious how much space datasets and histories are taking up, however, and user quotas are also forthcoming which should also help administrators manage disk usage. Thanks for using Galaxy! -Dannon On Apr 4, 2011, at 11:43 AM, Chaolin Zhang wrote:
