user_library_import_dir configuration
Hi, I have setup 'user_library_import_dir' to allow non-admin users to import data libraries. The configured directory contains subdirectories with galaxy-login (email) name. I couldn't figure out how to view these files in galaxy web interface though. Any help? Also, what filesystem permissions are needed for user_library_import_dir and library_import_dir (admin accessible)? -- Thanks, Shantanu.
Hello Shantu, You have to be logged into Galaxy as one of the users that has a galaxy-login subdirectory configured. If you are a Galaxy admin, configure a subdirectory for your login to test this. Those that want to use this feature will also need to have permission to add to the data library ( they must have a role associated with the LIBRARY_ADD permission on the data library). To use the feature, select Shared Data -> Data libraries from the top Galaxy menu bar. Go to the library to which you have permission to add, and upload files from your configured directory. Let us know if you bump into additional questions. Greg Von Kuster On Jun 22, 2011, at 5:41 PM, Shantanu Pavgi wrote:

Thanks for the detailed description Greg. Just found it in the web interface few minutes back. -- Shantanu. On Jun 23, 2011, at 8:21 AM, Greg Von Kuster wrote:

Found it in web interface - 'upload directory of files' option within data library. Can someone help me with the filesystem permissions? For ftp_upload_dir it seems like galaxy needs rw access on subdirectories and it deletes files that are imported from ftp directories. Do we need similar set of permissions for library_import_dir and user_library_import_dir? -- Thanks, Shantanu.
Your users will need read permission on the subdirectory configured for user_library_import_dir. On Jun 23, 2011, at 9:24 AM, Shantanu Pavgi wrote:
