Dear all,
I made a tool that is doing analysis every two days and send me a notification by email when the analyis is completed.
I would like to know if I can run this kind of job and how to integrate this tool in Galaxy tools panel in Galaxy ? If someone has this experience can help me.
Thanks in advance,
Mohamed
Unfortunately Galaxy has no native support for scheduled jobs or workflow executions like this. Pretty much all computation in Galaxy is kicked off by user action or external interaction via the API. So if you want to place the actual computation inside of Galaxy as a workflow or a tool you can - then results can be gathered into histories and visualized for instance and steps tracked - but the scheduling of its execution would need to be executed by something like a cron job triggering the API.
I'm not sure if I think Galaxy should add support for this or maybe just make it easier to trigger such things via the API, but if you think it should I'd encourage you to add an issue at https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/issues/new.
Sorry I don't have better news.
