Galaxy 25.1 Release - Fresh Interface, Enhanced Workflows & Visualizations
Dear Galaxy Community, We're excited to announce Galaxy 25.1 (December 2025), featuring major interface improvements and powerful new capabilities. Highlights: Modern History List Interface - A completely redesigned card-based layout makes managing your histories more visual and intuitive, with advanced keyboard navigation and multi-select capabilities for efficient bulk operations. Sample Sheets for Workflows - Import data from external spreadsheets (CSV, TSV, Excel) to configure complex workflow inputs. Workflow authors can create templates with validation rules, making it easy to organize datasets and metadata for batch processing. Enhanced Tool Discovery - Find the right tools faster with our new dedicated discovery interface featuring card-based displays, EDAM ontology integration, favorites, and easy sharing. Galaxy Charts Framework - Experience dramatically improved visualization performance with our new framework. The flagship IGV.js integration provides comprehensive genomic data visualization with multi-track support for BAM, VCF, BigWig, BED, GFF, GTF, and CRAM files. Tool Credentials System - Tools can now securely access external APIs, databases, and cloud services through integrated credential management with vault-backed secret storage. Additional Features - Recent downloads tracking, visual storage expiration indicators, workflow editor search, redesigned user preferences, and support for numerous new data types including SpatialData, safetensors, and LAS/LAZ.
