cannot startup the local instance of tool shed
Hello everyone, I'm a new to Galaxy and the tool sheds. Right now i am learning it by reading the tutorial and have a problem: when i try to start my local tool shed by typing the command "%sh run_community.sh" within the galaxy installation directory, nothing happens. It just terminate itself immediately without any error message. It's quite different from when i start up a local galaxy instance. What i did: 1)Modify the community_wsgi.ini so that it has the right connection to my own MySQL server. 2)in cmd prompt, cd to the installation directory 3)in cmd prompt, sh run_community.sh Thanks a lot. Any help is appreciated. Tyler
Hello Tyler, When using the public Galaxy tool shed while learning, please use the test instance of the tool shed rather than the production instance. I noticed that you uploaded the filter tool from the Galaxy distribution to the main tool shed. The public test tool shed is available at http://testtoolshed.g2.bx.psu.edu/. You can trace the paster log of your local tool shed instance typing the following in a terminal window in your Galaxy installation directory. This will show you whatever problem is occurring with your local tool shed. tail -f community_webapp.log Thanks! Greg Von Kuster On Feb 24, 2012, at 4:17 PM, JIE CHEN wrote:
