Greetings, First of all you guys are doing exceptional job building and supporting Galaxy! I would like to download and install galaxy for our JCVI users and hopefully also contribute building and enhancing Galaxy. Is there any documentation which described installation and configuration, I'm mainly looking for document which will help me estimate server requirement. Regards, Indresh Singh J. Hi Indresh, The page at: http://usegalaxy.org/production Explains all the details about how to optimize Galaxy as a production service. As for requirements, it's hard to estimate as it all depends on how many users you have, how many tools they're run, what tools they'll run, and how big the data you'll be working with will be. Our public site at usegalaxy.org currently runs both the database server and Galaxy server on an 8-core system with 32GB of memory. It's backed by an NFS server with about 68TB of storage, and we are compressing Galaxy's data at a bit over 4x. For the cluster, we have about 148 cores for normal jobs and 128 extra for running our NGS tools. All nodes have at least 4GB of memory per core. --nate
