Is a RabbitMQ server required to transfer datasets from a sample request?
Hi, Is using AMQ protocol required to transfer datasets in the Data Libraries and Sample Tracking? I am using trying to use the LIMS components without a bar code scanner and I'd rather not have to deal with a RabbitMQ server. I didn't change the commented out galaxy_amqp parameters in universe_wsgi.ini but then I recieved an error while trying to transfer datasets. So is there a way for me to transfer files with setting up a RabbitMQ server? Thanks, Natalie Fox
Hi Natalie, Yes, you will need a RabbitMQ server setup to transfer datasets from sequencer to Galaxy data libraries. The message queue is needed even if sample tracking is being used without barcoding. RabbitMQ installation is straightforward and needs minimal settings. Once you have installed RabbitMQ, I would be happy to guide you on how to configure Galaxy sample tracking to work with it. rc galaxy dev team On Sep 1, 2010, at 2:01 PM, nsfox@uwaterloo.ca wrote:
