We had a similar very bizarre problem: The uploads only worked, if the files
were owned by the user 'galaxy'. As soon as they were owned by a different
user (even if they were readable by the everybody) it didn't work.
We don't have an explanation. It might just be a local curiosity, but give
it a try.
