Rumor has it that some developer in the Galaxy community is already integrating the ABySS genome assembler ( http://www.bcgsc.ca/platform/bioinfo/software/abyss/) into Galaxy.
Does anyone have any details about this?

Yes, this is something we've been working on. We will have it enabled for the galaxy cloud instances when we update them next week. At this time I don't believe we're planning on enabling it on the main galaxy instance right away, but the wrappers will definitely be available for anyone to use on their own instance.
