Given that each of us has made some progress in our plans for Galaxy India, can we use this email thread to update each other of the progress - so that everyone is on the same page?

Harpreet, we discussed funding for scholarships and local travel for speakers for InSyb2019. Although we had never consciously thought about our criteria before, we have only funded events that are Galaxy-centric, such as the recently completed Galaxy Africa, or scholarships for Galaxy Community Conferences

InSyb2019 is not a Galaxy-centric event, which means that we won't be funding travel and scholarships.

I remain optimistic for getting a Galaxy PI to India for some future event.
