[galaxy-user] FASTQ quality stats & Bowtie

Hi, I am a new Galaxy user and still navigating the platform. Can you explain the difference between these 2 operations that the instruction video asks us to perform before submitting to Bowtie? *NGS: QC and manipulation>Illumina data>FASTQ Summary Statistics by column *FASTX-Toolkit for FASTQ data> Compute quality statistics Also, does Galaxy use Bowtie 2.1.0 or earlier versions?
