Training and CoFest begin today!
Thank you for being part of GCC2026. We are excited to continue the week with hands-on training, collaborative project work, and more opportunities to connect with the Galaxy community.

Today we begin GCC2026 Training and CoFest, taking place June 25–26 immediately following the main conference.
Training sessions and CoFest activities run in parallel, so you can choose the sessions, projects, and conversations that best match your interests.

TRAINING
GCC2026 Training offers hands-on sessions across several Galaxy topics. Thursday sessions include Earth Science & Ecology, Tool Wrapping, Galaxy in Practice, and Machine Learning for Genomics. Friday
sessions include Developers Do Bioinformatics, ChIP-seq/CUT&RUN/RNA-seq Analysis, Mass Spectrometry & Advanced Tool Development, and Multi-Omics.

COFEST
CoFest is a collaborative community gathering focused on contributing to Galaxy tools, documentation, training materials, code, workflows, user experience, outreach, and other parts of the Galaxy ecosystem.
CoFest is intentionally informal. Find your project team, join a discussion, contribute where you can, and help move something meaningful forward with the community.

If you would like to improve your project description, move to another project, or ask questions about where to participate, please reach out in the
#cofest channel in the GCC2026 Slack workspace.

AFTER COFEST
Help us document the work
In the week following CoFest, we will send a short form asking for notes about the work, discussions, planning, and progress made on CoFest projects. These responses will help us write a Galaxy Hub blog
post about the event and record what the community worked on together.

Please continue to stay cool and hydrated
Clermont-Ferrand and France in general are experiencing very hot weather. Please bring a refillable water bottle and anything else that will help you stay cool and comfortable during Training and CoFest.
