So the 2,000-3,000 word range makes sense. It's... substantial, but not overwhelming. I remember back in undergrad, feeling like my lit reviews were just endless summaries. Now I get that the critical part is what matters. That being said, balancing it all in a dissertation feels like trying to perfectly time a jump in flappy bird – you think you've got the rhythm, then BAM, intellectual crash-and-burn.
