Dear all,

Please distribute the following job position in my team among potential candidates:

I would like to support a Ukranian scientist:

Research Associate (PostDoc) in Informatics (f_m_d)

Establishment of a National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). Data are a raw material of the 21st century. Within the large national German project NFDI, data collected in various scientific disciplines are to be made generally accessible so that they can also be used by third parties. My team is a co-applicant of the consortium PUNCH4NFDI, an association of research institutions and universities with extensive experience in dealing with Big Data and Open Data, which are generated in research institutions in astronomy and particle physics and which are held in data centers distributed worldwide (for more details. see www.PUNCH4NFDI.de).

This will be your field of activities:
- Participate in a major national infrastructure project
- Cooperation in the accomplishment of future Big Data challenges
- Develop machine learning methods and techniques to extract "interesting information" from massive data streams in near real-time
- Contributing to the use of novel computing architectures for efficient analysis of high-resolution 3D images of the universe (up to the size of a petabyte: "data monsters“).

Your profile should be:
- University degree in computer science, natural sciences or technology with doctorate or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience in processing or analyzing large amounts of data
- Experience with a programming language suitable for developing software on distributed systems
- High level of communication and collaboration skills
- Good English language skills (written and spoken).

More information as well as the online application link can be found at:

Deadline for the online application is April 15, 2022.
