We had quite a lively November meeting, with lots of shared tips & tricks for running communities.

In honour of the communal academic experience of lots of meetings with little getting done, I offer you this gem of a meeting follow-up section 😉.

🙏🏾Request: Automate ingest of Galaxy Training Events to Galaxy Events calendar, with tag of training/GTN

⭐️Follow-up: WB raised an issue, can people please upvote and/or action it? https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy-hub/issues/2809

🙏🏾Shared google calendar  of community calendars (like the Gxy WG) embedded somewhere? On the GCB page, for example? 

⭐️Follow-up: WB made a public googlecalendar. Please include the following person as invited to all your community meetings/events (

🙏🏾GCB EU-centric at the moment. Make more obvious ‘How to join’ and ‘When are our meetings’.

⭐️Follow-up: (https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy-hub/pull/2868) Update & added the calendar / links to the GCB page (Linked the FAQ with the info). WB also added meetings onto the Event Horizon (https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy-hub/pull/2869). WB following up with NW about invites.

🙏🏾Discuss subdomains / feedback on GalaxyLabs; regional communities not keen for meetings; Roadmap exercise still ongoing; and nobody has time to action the Misconceptions Paper

⭐️Follow-up: Swap timetable to remove regional meeting (this year); include a subdomain feedback session during AU friendly hours; and change an April meeting into a Misconceptions write-a-thon

I think we should remove the sublinks for each community, and just have the community name + description + link to the community page, which itself would have the sublinks (like the matrix link, etc.). Can I get some votes on that? (May also be a good opportunity to clear out communities that are defunct)

Thank you all for contributing collectively to the GCB, for donating so much of your time to helping each other and the Galaxy communities, and for being nice people to get to collaborate with. Between the development of so many new communities (Mass spec, Plants, Earth); the creation of the Community Building training page (https://training.galaxyproject.org/training-material/topics/community/), the Subdomain unification, the Community Lightning talks pilot, and the Tips & Tricks we’ve shared - I think we’re making this a worthwhile Board for ourselves and each other.
