Hi All!
Thanks again for joining the training event on May 22-26. This mail is the
last we will send, and contains information about your certificates and a
final request for feedback.
*Feedback Form*
It would be extremely helpful for us (like, seriously, super duper helpful)
if you could fill out our feedback form
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdth4MopsMalwye3jMl1xUhL-P-ZPOC6QY…>
(~5 minutes) with your thoughts about the course, we hope to keep being
able to provide this event for free in future years, and your feedback
helps to do that, and your thoughts and suggestions are very valuable to
improve the event!
*Certificates*
For those of you who requested a certificate, you should have gotten
* a message from the bot on Slack with your certificate. *
All the certificates can also be found in this Google drive folder
<https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1E92L-gP9dBWpCsLxVj0XBlgRWBI0QlQe?us…>
Any questions about certificates can be asked in #support-certificates
<https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/archives/C05C5FRDR5F>in Slack (and some
common ones are answered below)
Kind regards,
Saskia Hiltemann
*Q: Help, my name is incorrect on my certificate!*
*A:* You probably forgot to run the */request-certificate* command to
supply your name to the bot, so we defaulted to your Slack username or ID.
We can fix your name if needed, please let us know in #support-certificates
<https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/archives/C05C5FRDR5F> in Slack.
*Q: It says my certificate was rejected!*
*A: *You either supplied invalid history links, or there was something else
wrong with the history (empty, not shared, deleted, copied from another
person, contents didn't match the tutorial, etc). If you feel this was a
mistake, please contact us in #support-certificates
<https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/archives/C05C5FRDR5F> in Slack and we will
help you fix it.
*Q: A tutorial is missing from my certificate!*
*A:* It may be that you submitted your history to the wrong channel by
accident, or there was a problem with your history. If you feel that a
tutorial should be added to your certificate, contact us in
#support-certificates <https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/archives/C05C5FRDR5F>
in Slack and we will see if we can fix it.

Dear Participants,
Thank you all for joining *GTN Smörgåsbord 3* last week! This email
contains some final wrap-up information about the course.
*Feedback*
Please take a few moments to fill out our feedback survey
<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdth4MopsMalwye3jMl1xUhL-P-ZPOC6QY…>.
This is HUGELY appreciated, your feedback not only helps us to improve the
event in the future, but also increases the likelihood we can offer another
edition of the course next year. Note that it is
* mandatory if you want a certificate*
*Certificates*
Anybody who would like a certificate can get one. Here are the steps to
obtain one and the timeline:
1. Submit your histories *until June 4th, 23:59 CEST *using the
certificate bot on Slack (instructions
<https://gallantries.github.io/video-library/certbot>)
2. Check what you have submitted using the */transcript* command,
or by opening the certbot home page
<https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/app_redirect?app=A02F7B8DX7S>
3. Use the command * /request-certificate Your Name* when you have
submitted everything you want listed on your certificate.
4. We aim to have your certificates ready by *June 12*. You will receive
a message from the bot on Slack, it will appear certbot home page
<https://gtnsmrgsbord.slack.com/app_redirect?app=A02F7B8DX7S>, and I
will also send out an email.
*Keep Learning*
You can keep asking your questions on Slack this week, but there will be
fewer instructors around so it may take a bit longer to get answers. After
this week, please use the GTN matrix chat channel
<https://matrix.to/#/#Galaxy-Training-Network_Lobby:gitter.im> for any
questions about Galaxy tutorials.

here is a new Slack invite link <http://gxy.io/gtn-slack>that should work.
*At the start of the course..*
When it is 22 May in your time zone and you are ready to start, go to the
course webpage, and watch the intro video. We will explain the logistics
for the week there. Afterwards, work your way through the rest of the
"Welcome & Setup" section to get all the information you need to get the
most out of the training week. And then it is time to get started! We
provide a list of modules to choose from, find something that is
interesting to you and just start the video and start learning at your own
pace! If you are unsure where to start, just let us know in Slack and we
can help you find something that fits your interests!
*About Certificates*
For those of you who would like to receive a certificate of attendance
after the course, we have added more information about this to the course
website. Like last year, we will use the Slack Certificate Bot for this.
You can submit a link to your Galaxy history to the bot after each tutorial
you complete, and at the end of the week you can use the bot to request
your certificate. We will then create a *personalized certificate *for you,
listing all the tutorials you completed during the week. It doesn't matter
if you did 1 tutorial or 50, everybody who wants a certificate can get one!
