About Galaxy
Galaxy <https://galaxyproject.org/> is a platform for data integration and
analysis in the life sciences. It enables researchers to build, run, share,
and repeat their own complex computational analyses using only a web
browser and without having to first learn system administration and command
line interfaces.
The Galaxy Project is driven by a vibrant community who publish workflows
and analyses, wrap new tools, maintain and enhance the source code, provide
support, and write documentation and training materials. Galaxy is
open-source and freely available, and is deployed in hundreds of
organizations, running on everything from laptops to supercomputers to
public and private clouds. Over 150 of these platforms are publicly
available and can be used with little or no setup. Thousands of tools have
been ported to Galaxy and are deployable from the Galaxy Tool Shed. Galaxy
was developed to support life science research, but the platform is domain
agnostic and is now used in domains as diverse as natural language
processing, computational solid geometry, and social science.
Hope to see you in Minneapolis!
GCC2022 Organizers <https://galaxyproject.org/events/gcc2022/organizers/>
Hello everyone
I hope this email finds you well in these difficult times.
We will not be having a Galaxy Africa event this year due to the global
pandemic but the good news is that Galaxy's annual Galaxy Community
Conference has (1) combined with the Bioinformatics Open Source Conference
(BOSC) this year and (2) is online. It will be organised in 2 sessions - an
East and a West one - to cover people across the globel's timezones. That
means that each session will be repeated twice. The conference website is
https://bcc2020.github.io/ .
I would like to organise a Galaxy Africa session during the conference -
perhaps in the form of a Birds of A Feather discussion about organising
Galaxy on the African continent. I would appreciate it if some people could
volunteer to help organise this - I am on the BCC2020 organising committee
and chair the scientific committee for the GCC track, so I am already
pretty busy with other conference related activities.
Please email me if you could help organise and publicise an event for this
year.
Thank you,
Peter

offer Galaxy training for researchers, and training for systems
administrators who need to maintain a local installation. This year we are
calling for abstracts for three oral presentations that demonstrate the use
of Galaxy in your research projects.
Please note that the deadline for oral presentations is *13 September 2019*.
You can submit here:
