It is so old as to almost be completely unhelpful - but here https://images.galaxyproject.org/ipython/20150402.box is a vagrant box I built in April of 2015. Here is the recipe I used to build the VM (https://github.com/jmchilton/galaxy-ipython-machine). It used similar infrastructure to planemo machine.
One of my goals for 2016 is automate the building, testing, and deployment of new planemo-machine instances. I'll be sure to include a combine IE VM also as part of this effort.
Also - I believe the latest CloudMan is distributed with IPython https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/CloudMan/. It is a VM, just a VM hosted and running at Amazon.
