I've done that. The intermediate outputs are hidden. But all the steps are still displayed. I want to hide those, too.

You would normally setup the workflow to hide all the intermediate output files, leaving just those outputs of interest to be shown in the history. Mark these with the "snowflake" icon in the workflow editor.
