Name workflow output dynamically on input name
Hello, I have been just getting the hang of workflows and finding them very useful. I have one question, though. Is there any way to name an output of a workflow dynamically based on the input? Thank you, Daniel Gorelik dgorelik@bu.edu
Hi Daniel, I checked in with Dannon Baker, our team lead on workflows, and he suggested the following: Yes, it's possible w/ RenameDatasetActions in a workflow. You can use something like "Bowtie on #{input1}" to rename the output of a step to "Bowtie on <whatever the input1 dataset name is>". This is not documented in the wiki yet, although your question has prompted us to think about creating a new page for advanced workflow usage. We'll probably start on this sometime in the next few weeks. Good question! Jen Galaxy team On 8/13/13 6:31 AM, Daniel Gorelik wrote:
