Hi Dave, Bjorn
My Goblet membership has just come due, so I'd be interested in being part
of a GTN group membership. Do you have any idea how the login works at an
organisational level though? Do we still all have our own usernames and
are nominated members of the GTN membership? I can't find any details
about that on the website.
Cheers
Mark

>End of Galaxy-training Digest, Vol 3, Issue 1
>*********************************************
Hello all,
I attended the annual GOBLET meeting in November. GOBLET (
http://mygoblet.org/) is a global organization focused on bioinformatics
training. Their goals largely mirror (and predate) the goals of the Galaxy
Training Network (GTN, https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Teach). I was
impressed with the group.
I was about to submit my individual membership for 2015, and it occurred to
me that by pooling individual memberships, we might be able to get an
organizational membership for GTN. That is, if 5 of us were interested in
joining, we might be able to pool those into a single Bronze membership.
Individual memberships are €50/year and Bronze are €250. As an annual
membership, we would need to find 5 people every year.
A Bronze membership gets us a place for the GTN in GOBLET, and a vote in
GOBLET issues (as an individual member I don't get a vote). It also raises
the visibility of both GTN and GOBLET.
This would only make sense if at least 5 of us, who aren't already
organizational members, were interested in joining as individuals anyway.
What do people think? Discussion and "yes I'm willing to contribute € to a
pooled membership" emails are welcome.
Thanks,
Dave C

Hello all,
I'd like to send a specific invitation to the Galaxy training community to
nominate topics and yourself (and your friends!) as an instructor for the
GCC2015 Training Day. We can't yet guarantee this for 2015, but I can say
that instructors at the 3 previous GCC Training Days received full
complementary registrations for all parts of the conference.
The instructors and the content you present are what make the Training Days
the successes they are. Please give this some thought.
Thanks,
Dave C

Hello all,
GCC2015 Training Day <http://gcc2015.tsl.ac.uk/training-day/> topics
are nominated
by you <http://bit.ly/gcc2015tdnom>, the Galaxy Community. Please take a
few minutes to nominate a topic. Any topic of interest to the Galaxy
Community can be nominated and you are encouraged to nominate more than
one. If you are looking for ideas, see the topics nominated in 2013
<http://bit.ly/1i2j1gN> and 2014 <http://bit.ly/1s6NtMN>, and the Events
<https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Events> and the Events Archives
<https://wiki.galaxyproject.org/Events/Archive> pages.
Nominated topics will be published on the Training Day
<http://gcc2015.tsl.ac.uk/training-day/> page as they come in. *Nominations
close 6 January*. Topics will be compiled into a uniform list by the GCC2015
Organising Committee <http://gcc2015.tsl.ac.uk/organisers>, and topics will
be voted on by the Galaxy Community 12-23 January.
Topics will then be selected and scheduled based on topic interest, and the
organisers' ability to confirm instructors for each session. Some very
popular sessions may be scheduled more than once. The final schedule will
be posted before registration opens.
Cheers,
GCC2015 Organising Committee <http://gcc2015.tsl.ac.uk/organisers>
