Fellowship Opportunities GCC2023!

FELLOWSHIPS ARE NOW AVAILABLE! [cid:9cc3b618-f982-4a31-ad28-936d011c53d5] Hello, Galaxy Community! An incredible opportunity has arrived! Thanks to an outstanding anonymous donor, fellowships are now available for students and postdocs to attend and participate at the 2023 Galaxy Community Conference<https://galaxyproject.org/events/gcc2023/> (GCC2023) in Brisbane, Australia! Two types of fellowships are offered: * 2 in-person fellowships: this will cover the conference and CoFest registration, conference dinner, up to 4 nights of hotel stay, and up to AU$500 in travel costs. Food and any travel expenses in excess of AU$500 will be the responsibility of the awardee. To apply for this type of fellowship, you must submit an abstract for a short or long talk. * 10 virtual fellowships: this will cover the cost of virtual conference registration. To apply for this type of fellowship, you must submit an abstract for a poster or demo and be present online during your scheduled poster or demo session to interact with the attendees. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with a friendly group of researchers, developers and educators from around the world. There will be presentations, training and collaboration, combined with plenty of socialising in beautiful surrounds. If you are a data scientist, software engineer, or an educator working in data intensive science you should consider attending GCC2023, even if you are not (yet) using Galaxy. There will be opportunities to learn about data analysis methods, opportunities to disseminate your software to thousands of users, or attend a variety of training sessions on topics ranging from data analysis to systems administration. Short talks are also a great opportunity to present in-progress work and get feedback from a very welcoming and engaging community.
